Paul Butler Associates were planning and heritage consultants on this project which involved the change of use and extension of this former warehouse building to provide 34 apartments. A key part of the scheme was a glazed contemporary two storey roof extension designed to be read as a modern addition to the historic building. Paul Butler Associates undertook pre-application consultation with Salford City Council and the local community; coordinated and submitted the application (including preparing a Planning and Heritage Statement which assessed the relationship with nearby listed buildings and the Flat Iron Conservation Area); and managed the application during the determination process through to approval. Following approval of the planning application at Planning Committee the Practice progressed condition discharge applications to allow the development to commence
