Paul Butler Associates Ltd provided planning and heritage advice on this project and acted as planning agent for the application. The scheme involved the change of use of the long-term vacant building and a single storey roof extension to provide a total of 35 apartments. Planning permission was also secured for the refurbishment of the ground floor to create commercial units. The Practice provided the Planning and Heritage Statement in support of the application which assessed the potential impact of the scheme on the adjacent grade II listed Manchester House and the Whitworth Street / Princess Street Conservation Area. Paul Butler Associates coordinated and submitted the planning application and managed it from pre-application stage through to approval by Manchester City Council. Following approval the Practice managed the condition discharge process.
